Release Notes 0.5.1

July 8, 2020 - The Avatar: Pandora Rising Dev Team

The battlefield transforms with balance updates across Troops, Commanders, and Towers in the next phase of Pandora’s evolution. This smaller update addresses some bugs and issues from 0.5.0 as well as feedback we've received on Troop balance.

We know our last update brought many changes and we appreciate the feedback we've gotten from all of you. We're still evaluating the recent changes to Commanders and boosted Tower levels before making any further adjustments, but rest assured it's something that we're watching closely.

General Changes

  • Alliance leaders will now be able to pass leadership to Co-Leaders.
  • Sacred Site Rallies will now only launch when the timer expires. Our goal is to increase the amount of coordination needed between Alliance members for attacks. We’ll be monitoring this change closely.

Troops and Combat Changes

  • Troop Building Health has been reduced across both factions.
  • The goal is to create more counter-play when facing off against them on the battlefield using Special Powers. We’ll be watching the results of these changes, especially for Harvesters on defense, and expect to make additional changes to Buildings over the next few updates.
  • Base Wall Tower Health decreased 11% (from 1850 to 1650).
  • A few updates ago we significantly boosted the capability to defend your Base by upgrading your Wall Towers through Defender Commanders. Learning more from your feedback and data, we’ve decided to reduce Wall Tower Health to mirror the Health of your next line of defense, Sentry Towers. This change makes it much easier to estimate a Base Wall Tower’s overall Health as you can now compare them to Sentry Towers, which you have more experience against in other battles.

Na’vi

  • Direhorse Rider
  • Health decreased 1% (from 740 to 733).
  • Damage decreased 1% (from 96 to 95).

  • Banshee Flight and Forest Banshee
  • Health decreased 2% (from 290 to 284).

  • Blastbulb
  • Health decreased 5% (from 1120 to 1064).

  • Ikran Assault
  • Damage decreased 2% (from 670 to 657).

  • Titanothere
  • Health increased 1% from (1834 to 1852).
  • Damage increased 1% from (208 to 210).

  • Warbeest
  • Health decreased 3% (from 891 to 864).
  • Damage decreased 3% (from 169 to 164).
  • Charge time increased from 2 to 2.5 seconds.
  • We were seeing Warbeest perform too effectively. Even in situations when it faced direct counter Troops like swarms of Viperwolves, Rifle Troopers/Squad, and Infantry Nest. In addition to reducing its Health and Damage, we’re increasing the time it takes to build up its charge. This will create larger gaps for counter-play, as well as reducing the percentage of charge attacks.

  • Paradise Needler
  • Damage increased 2% (from 47 to 48).

  • Puffball Tree
  • Health decreased 5% (from 850 to 808).

  • Stingbat Swarm
  • Health decreased 2% (from 24 to 24.5).
  • Damage decreased 2% (from 33 to 32).

  • Viperwolf Den
  • Health decreased 5% (from 850 to 808).

  • Archers and Hunting Party
  • Health increased 1% (from 110 to 111).
  • Damage increased 2% (from 49 to 50).
  • Formations are now spaced out more.

  • Arrow Storm
  • Damage increased 3% (from 160 to 165).

  • Viperwolves and Viperwolf Pack
  • Damage increased 2% (from 47 to 48).
  • Health increased 2% (from 42 to 43).

RDA

  • Flame Boss
  • Damage increased 5% (from 23 to 24).
  • Death Damage decreased by 2% (from 170 to 167).

  • Helldozer
  • Health increased 2% (from 2374 to 2421).
  • Damage increased 2% (from 252 to 257).
  • Hit Speed increased 8.3% (from 3 to 2.75 seconds).

  • Incinerator
  • Health increased 1% (from 450 to 455).
  • Damage increased 1% (from 28 to 28.25).

  • Missile Battery
  • Health decreased 10% (from 825 to 743).
  • Missile Battery is a more proactive play that requires a response from your opponent. Its fairly high Health meant it couldn’t be efficiently countered with Special Powers like Ikran Assault or Missile Strike. Because of this, we’re lowering it’s health a bit more than the other Buildings this update. This should get it more in line with comparable Troops for both factions.

  • Missile Strike
  • Damage increased 1% (from 435 to 439).
  • Knockback effect increased 20%.

  • Ripper
  • Health increased 1% (from 195 to 197).
  • Damage increased 1% (from 545 to 550).

  • Scorpion Gunship
  • Health increased 1% (from 700 to 707).
  • Damage increased 1% (from 38 to 38.5).

  • AMP
  • Health decreased 1% (from 893 to 884).
  • Damage decreased 1% (from 35 to 34.75).

  • Bunker
  • Health increased 3% (from 1100 to 1133).
  • Deploys with an additional Rifle Trooper inside (3 total).
  • Changes over time made Bunker harder to play as a reaction to Direhorse or Warbeest. We think Infantry Nest fits better as counter-play here, so we’re continuing to push Bunker towards being the heavier defensive Troop you can use against a larger push.

  • Field Barracks
  • Health decreased 5% (from 1020 to 969).
  • Lifetime decreased 12.5% (from 40 to 32 seconds).
  • Time between spawns increased 20% (from 5 to 6 seconds).
  • Rifle Troopers per spawn increased from 2 to 3.
  • Rifle Troopers deployed when destroyed decreased from 4 to 3.
  • We’re tuning Field Barracks to create more overwhelming numbers in a shorter time frame. Field Barracks should act as a powerful pusher if protected as well as being a sharper counter to high-damage single-target Troops like Warbeest and Ripper.

  • Grenadier
  • Health increased 1% (from 247 to 249.5).
  • Damage increased 1% (from 80 to 81).

  • Infantry Nest
  • Health decreased 5% (from 820 to 779).

  • RPG Station
  • Health decreased 5% (from 650 to 617.5).

  • Shredder
  • Health increased 3% (from 1060 to 1092).
  • Damage increased 3% (from 19 to 19.5).
  • Now pushed much less by Knockback effects.

  • Concussion Blast
  • Damage increased 5% (from 135 to 141.75).
  • Stun Duration decreased 12.5% (from 2 to 1.75 seconds).

  • Rifle Troopers and Rifle Squad
  • Health increased 2% (from 47 to 48).
  • Damage increased 2% (from 14 to 14.25).

  • RPG Infantry and RPG Squad
  • Health increased 2% (from 73 to 74.5).
  • Damage increased 2% (from 61 to 62.25).
  • Formations are now spaced out more.
  • We’re continuing our efforts to make RPG Infantry and RPG Squad easier to play in ways that aren’t immediately countered by a much cheaper Arrow Storm or Concussion Blast.
